There are a variety of services available to job seekers.
As a job seeker you can use our self-service
Internet offerings or you can receive assistance from professional staff in our Resource Centers
throughout the state to find a job that matches your experience, interest and abilities.
These services include:
Online Resume:
You may create a resume on-line which can be viewed by employers who have approved access.
You have a number of options with your resume.
Under the "Resume Preferences-Disclosure Level" section of the resume, you can choose:
- "Full Display": Allows employers to read your entire resume.
- "Search Only-Never Display": Allows you to search job openings, but does not display your
resume to employers.
- "No Confidential Information": Allows employers to read your work history, but not your contact information,
such as phone and fax numbers, and address.
You may enter your e-mail address under contact information.
This will enable you to have employers contact you directly.
All resumes can be printed in a usable format.
Job Search
You may search job openings by four methods:
- "Search - All job Openings": Allows you to set criteria such as geographical location, keyword(s), salary, type of job, education level, shift, or temporary jobs only.
- "Search by Type of Job": Allows you to search by keyword(s) and select from a list of job classifications.
- "Search - Using the Job Order Number": If you know the assigned job order number.
- "Search - Jobs Listed by Company Name": Allows you to search by the name of the company who may have job openings that match your experience.
You can also use the quick "Job Search" feature to preview current job openings by geographic area and appropriate keyword(s).
Contacting employers
You should review the employer contact information for referral instructions.
You can click on "Contact Employer" at the bottom of employer job orders that request you to e-mail your JobLink resume directly to them.
A pre-designed "Letter of Introduction" will appear which you can complete to accompany your resume.
The term "Third Party Contact" will appear in the employer contact information if the employer wants the local Resource Center to screen potential candidates for their job openings.
